Applications for steam
JUMAG steam boilers are used wherever steam is used to heat, clean, sterilise, humidify or enable chemical processes.
What is your use case?

Humidification
Steam can simultaneously heat up a product and provide it with moisture. This is needed, for example, in food products such as baked goods, to produce pellets from feed materials, or in paper production, where microscopic cracks or damage should be avoided.
.... of air and space:
In addition, steam can serve as an industrial heater and provide a pleasant indoor climate, for example for storing books and files or humidifying the air. e.g. in hospitals.

What is steam used for in your industry?
An overview of typical applications.
Food industry
In food processing, steam is a key medium for cooking, pasteurizing, sterilizing, and cleaning. Whether in the production of beverages, baked goods, dairy products, or canned foods, steam ensures consistent temperatures, hygienic conditions, and energy-efficient production. A continuous flow of steam is essential to ensure food quality and safety.
Pharma indutry
Ultra-pure steam is indispensable in pharmaceutical production processes—for example, for sterilizing equipment, mixing steam and air in autoclaves, or for direct product contact in reactors. The requirements for steam quality and availability are extremely high: only validatable, continuously available systems with reliable controllability meet strict regulatory requirements such as GMP or FDA.
Textile industry
Steam is used in the textile industry for a variety of purposes, including color fixing, pre-treatment, shrinking, and thermal processes such as drying or ironing. It enables moisture and heat to penetrate the fabric evenly, which improves the quality and feel of the textiles. Steam is also the first choice for sanitizing work clothes.
Chemical engineering
In chemical production processes, steam is used as process heat, for example to heat reactors, heat exchangers, and distillation columns. The flexible and precise controllability of steam is crucial for safe, efficient, and scalable reactions. A fail-safe steam supply is essential, especially for temperature-sensitive or continuous processes.
Oil and gas industry
Steam plays an important role in oil and gas processing, for example in dewaxing, separation processes, or maintaining temperature and pressure levels. It is also indispensable in steam injection for enhanced oil recovery. The systems must meet the highest safety standards and often also ATEX requirements.
Thermal post-combustion
Steam supports thermal afterburning systems through preheating, regulation, and partial energy recovery from hot exhaust gas streams. In exhaust gas purification systems, steam is used, for example, to achieve the optimum reaction temperature in oxidation chambers or to preheat catalysts. In this way, it contributes to emission reduction and energy efficiency.
