Additional economizer
Save energy and CO2! The second, downstream economizer is a heat exchanger that uses the energy contained in the flue gases to heat water.
The JUMAG Economiser: Function and benefits
What is the purpose of the additional economizer and what are its advantages?
Makes steam generation even more economical and efficient
The second economizer (heat exchanger) is connected on the flue gas side between the first economizer and the chimney. The water to be heated flows in countercurrent to the flue gases to be cooled. The lower the temperature of the water flowing through, the higher the efficiency.
The second economizer uses the heat energy contained in the flue gases to heat water, for example for:
- Feed water to be supplied to the boiler
- Fresh, softened water to be supplied to the feed water/condensate vessel
- Soft water for other applications
Demand-controlled: Preheating of boiler water or feed water
- With low condensate return (< 25%), the economizer can also preheat the feed water before it is fed into the feed water vessel.
- If condensate return is high (> 25%), the integrated and downstream economizers are connected in series. Both economizers then serve to heat the feed water before it enters the boiler.
