About Güth & Wolf

Since 1887, Güth & Wolf has been developing and producing sophisticated technical narrow textiles for leading international customers in the automotive and aviation sectors, as well as the wind energy, personal protection, and security technology industries. This makes Güth & Wolf one of Europe’s innovation and quality leaders, employing more than 300 people at three locations in Germany.

“If I had to make the decision again, I would choose JUMAG again anytime.”

Challenge: An outdated and oversized system

“We were looking for a replacement solution for our outdated steam boiler system. It would no longer have met regulations in the coming years,” begins Patrick Otte. Furthermore, the two existing large-capacity boilers were oversized due to changes in production processes. With a utilization rate of only around 30%, the cost-benefit ratio was extremely unattractive for Güth & Wolf.

The search for a new solution faced several requirements: The new steam generators should be able to be switched on and off by any trained personnel, eliminating the need for a trained boiler operator every time. Furthermore, it was important to the Güth & Wolf team that the system be low-maintenance and flexibly adaptable to the order situation. Mr. Otte: “It was also a requirement for us that the system be small and simple enough to be brought in and set up through normal doors during our two-week shutdown. This would have been impossible with large-capacity boilers.”

The solution: Flexible and economical in operation

Güth & Wolf requires steam in dyeing machines for narrow textiles. With the JUMAG system, employees can use it within 15 minutes of switching it on. “The system is not only quickly ready for use, but also intuitive to operate. This is a huge advantage because we don’t need a long lead time or trained personnel to work with the steam.”

The small amount of water in the boiler results in very little energy loss during the heating and shutdown processes. For Güth & Wolf, this means gas savings of more than 30% compared to the old system.

“The decision to go with JUMAG was absolutely the right one for us. You always get feedback without having to ask again. Unlike large steam boiler manufacturers, JUMAG also gave us the opportunity to tailor our system to our own needs.” Therefore, should Güth & Wolf’s steam consumption increase significantly in the future, the system can be expanded with little effort.

Patrick Otte: “Our JUMAG solution is ideal for companies seeking a flexible, cost-effective solution for a constantly changing sales market.”
