JUMAG Hybrid Steam Systems
The energy transition does not stop at steam technology. Companies are under increasing pressure to make their processes more efficient and reduce emissions. Electric and hybrid steam generation solutions are therefore becoming increasingly important — as a genuine alternative to purely fossil-fuel-based systems. Jumag shows how you can use flexible concepts to set the course for a sustainable, economical future today.
Future-proof hybrid steam solutions – efficient.
Flexible. Climate-friendly.
Why hybrid technology is becoming relevant now
Global regulations limiting NOₓ emissions are becoming stricter—Germany is also focusing on clean technologies and increasingly promoting electrification. Electric steam generation is therefore no longer a niche topic. More and more industrial companies are turning to sustainable steam generation—and you should too.
Three powerful concept variants – the right solution for every need
1. New installation 100% electric
Are you planning a completely new steam system? Electric steam generators (EDI) operate without exhaust gases, are CO₂-neutral, and flexible. The EDI series covers outputs from 20 to 960 kW (up to approx. 1,370 kg of steam/h). The challenge: A sufficient power connection must be ensured at the site.
2. Hybrid system – gradual transition
Expand your existing oil/gas plant with an EDI steam generator—operating in parallel or alternately. This allows you to gradually increase the proportion of electricity until you can replace fossil fuel plants. This hybrid solution is flexible, reliable, and highly profitable.
3. Partial hybrid with electric water preheating
Electric heating elements in the feed water tank preheat the feed water (partial or pressure degassing) and reduce corrosion and chemical use. Ideal in combination with PV, fuel cell, or small wind turbine systems: intelligent use of self-generated electricity significantly increases cost-effectiveness.

FAQ
No. It applies to combustion units from 1MW and is therefore not relevant for JUMAG, not even for multiple units.
Our steam systems are typically used for process steam generation. Therefore, these regulations only apply to our steam boilers if they are used exclusively for heating purposes or hot water generation.
We offer leasing in Germany and Austria. We will be happy to advise and support you.
No. None of our steam boilers require a boiler house. Not even as a multiple unit steam system.
Yes. Modernisation, expansion and new construction are eligible, e.g. the replacement of a steam boiler if the new steam boiler is more efficient.
A subsidy rate of up to 40% is possible. Contact us and we will be happy to support you.
No. The heating elements of the EDI series require 400 volts. Special solutions are doubtful for economic reasons.
Yes. This is possible. The affected components must be procured and adapted accordingly. Please note that longer delivery times and additional costs are possible as this is not a standard at JUMAG.
