JUMAG Electric Steam Boiler EDI
The steam generators in the EDI series are electrically operated. They deliver steam outputs ranging from 20 kW to 960 kW. As a multiple system, a multiple of the steam quantity is possible – also in hybrid operation with oil and gas-fired steam boilers.

JUMAG electric steam generators in detail
Functionality
Why do JUMAG steam boilers require minimal maintenance and offer maximum energy efficiency? This is because they operate differently from conventional electric steam generators.
Depending on the water level in the evaporation system, the feed water is refilled into the pressure vessel by means of the integrated boiler pump.
Low surface load on the heating elements due to larger diameter and longer heating elements. Approx. 10W/cm² compared to up to 26Wcm² for competitors.
Wear-free control of heating elements: Thyristors switch on without voltage during phase change instead of contactors, which switch on with voltage and wear out. Thanks to the thyristors, the power grid is protected because current peaks are avoided during switching.
All materials made from high-quality stainless steel. Optionally available entirely in V4A (all components without exception!).

Electric steam generators convert electrical energy exclusively into steam. They enable green electricity from renewable sources such as wind or solar power to be converted directly into steam or heat. No. The heating elements of the EDI series require 400 volts. Special solutions are doubtful for economic reasons.
Yes. This is possible. The affected components must be procured and adapted accordingly. Please note that longer delivery times and additional costs are possible as this is not a standard at JUMAG.
